Tell us about your family and when you started attending Cherry Hills: I am James Morgan. My wife Karen and I started coming to Cherry Hills with our two kids, Kevin and Lindsey, just after the turn of the century. We were drawn to Cherry Hills because of its emphasis on teaching and living by the word of God and the example Jesus Christ set for us. I love that both of those continue to be the priority here.
How do you see God working at Cherry Hills? I am also amazed at the love and caring that permeates all aspects of this church, from downstairs with the kids, the Men’s Group I have participated in for more than a decade, the staff, the leadership, the summer choirs, the events we put on, the many people praying for each other during and after services, and the Institute classes and Pastor Steve’s Book Club. It is amazing to see how God has worked and continues to work in each of those areas and the lives changed as a result.
What does it mean to be an elder at Cherry Hills? I am excited to be considered for a new term as an Elder. I was enriched and challenged during my prior stint. As an Elder, I believe my role is to help equip our staff and congregation to reach and build disciples and to help them share Jesus’ examples wherever they are and wherever they go.
